Theaters
Traditionally, motion pictures are distributed to theaters using a file-based transfer of the movie to the theater, either hand delivered or transferred to the theater via FTP sites. A corresponding key is issued to each theater which allows that movie to play on a specific DCP (digital cinema package) server with a serial number unique to that screen, and only at the times regulated by this key. This is not a real-time capable system.
We have developed a Streaming version of this DCP device that allows us to stream into theaters in real-time at the same quality that is expected in this space. Not only does the device feed live content to the theater, but it also recalibrates and optimizes the theater sound system as unfortunately many theaters are badly maintained and do not adhere to industry standards.
Our DCP device “qualifies” and adjusts as necessary the theater to guarantee that any content we stream into this venue is consumed as intended.
